Location Afslag 5 – Texel

You reach Afslag 5 via the Pontweg. This main road – or rather, lifeline – runs from the ferry all the way to the seaside town of De Koog. Back in the days before mobile phones – in the ’70s and ’80s – many people discovered the magic of our island. After a long journey, we wanted to help guests easily find their way to their accommodation. So, numbered turn-offs were introduced! These days, Google Maps does the work, but the iconic signs along the Pontweg remain. Our place on Texel is a tribute to this charming tourist tradition.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the check-in and check-out times?

At Afslag 5, you check in yourself using a key safe. Your room is available from 3:00 PM. Check-out must be completed by 10:00 AM at the latest.

Early check-in – Unfortunately, that’s not possible. We need the time to clean and prepare everything thoroughly for your stay. We want everything to be perfect when you arrive.

Late check-out – That’s not possible either. The room must be vacated by 10:00 AM at the latest, so we can get everything in top shape for the next guests.

Does Afslag 5 offer breakfast?

We don’t offer breakfast. In biking distance (Den Burg), you’ll find plenty of cosy spots that serve a delicious breakfast. Check out our tips!

Is there a kitchen?

Due to local regulations on the island, cooking or heating food is not allowed in our accommodation. That’s why you’ll only find coffee and tea facilities in the room.

Can I rent bikes?

We recommend booking your bikes online a few days before arrival via www.fietsenoptexel.nl. You’ll have plenty of choice – from electric bikes to sporty fatbikes. Don’t forget to enter our location. The bike rental company will deliver the bikes to our accommodation and collect them again from Afslag 5 after your departure.

Can I park for free?

Right in front of our building, there’s a private parking area. So you can park for free – and right at the doorstep.

Is there an electric car charging station?

At the private parking area in front of Afslag 5, guests can use our own charging station.

Can I bring my dog?

No, unfortunately your four-legged friend can’t join you at Afslag 5. We keep our B&B pet-free so that everyone – including guests with allergies – can enjoy a carefree stay.

Is the accommodation suitable for children?

Our rooms are intended for two adult guests and are not suitable for children. Afslag 5 is deliberately focused on offering peace and quiet to its guests.

Do I need to bring my own towels and/or bed linen?

We want you to feel at home, so everything is ready and waiting for you!

Are the rooms non-smoking?

Yes, smoking is not allowed in the rooms.

Do the rooms have a balcony or garden?

Afslag 5 has one shared garden with a picnic table that all guests can use. There is no private garden or balcony available.

Is there a bike shed?

At the parking area of Afslag 5, there are bike racks where you can park your bicycle.

What are the cancellation conditions?

Guests can cancel free of charge up to 14 days before their arrival.
Helpful tip: Always take out travel and cancellation insurance when making a booking.
